Bluetooth Earbuds Keep Disconnecting
Frequent disconnects are usually about interference, battery, or a background app conflict rather than a fault in the earbuds. Try these roughly in order of how common the cause is.
Check battery level on both earbuds
Low battery is the single most common cause of intermittent drops, since earbuds often cut the connection to save power before shutting down entirely.
Move away from interference sources
Wi-Fi routers, microwaves, and other 2.4GHz devices can interrupt Bluetooth. If drops happen in the same spot every time, that's a strong sign of interference.
Disconnect other paired Bluetooth devices
Some phones try to maintain multiple Bluetooth connections at once, which can starve your earbuds of a stable link. Turn off or disconnect other nearby Bluetooth accessories.
Turn off battery optimization for Bluetooth
On Android particularly, aggressive battery-saving settings can throttle the Bluetooth radio in the background. Check your phone's battery settings for any Bluetooth-related restrictions.
Update your phone's software
Bluetooth stack bugs get patched regularly. If you haven't updated your phone's OS in a while, that's worth doing before further troubleshooting.
Re-pair from scratch
Forget the earbuds, restart both the phone and the earbuds, then pair fresh. This clears whatever corrupted connection state is causing the drops.
Still not working?
If disconnects keep happening close to the phone with no other Bluetooth devices around and after a fresh pairing, the antenna in one earbud may be the issue.
